Dog Pack Hiker

Pack Hikers are responsible for leading hikes with a pack of up to 15 dogs. You must be able to hike up trails with elevation. 

 

The ideal candidate for this position should have a true love and passion for dogs and their wellbeing. The dogs in our care are treated as our own family. We are responsible for hiking a pack of dogs in the woods off leash. 

 

Duties include, but are not limited to the following: 

  • Hiking dogs

  • Facilitating indoor play groups when we are unable to hike on trails due to weather. 

  • Walking dogs

  • Feeding dogs

  • Cleaning crates 

  • Scooping yard

  • Washing bowls and tidying

  • Keeping facility sanitary and clean to not spread disease and/or infections

  • Sanitizing toys daily 

  • Notifying managers of any health concerns for any of the boarding dogs

  • Brushing, bathing and blow drying dogs

  • Administering medications

  • Working both independently and as a team

Essential job functions:

  • Hiking on trails with elevation, bending, crouching, kneeling, standing, squatting, twisting, walking on concrete for up to 8 hours a day.

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds

  • Willing to work during inclement weather 

  • Ability to problem solve and make rational and safe decisions

  • Observing surroundings: being able to control a pack of dogs when people or other dogs approach.

  • Being able to think and move quickly 

  • Able to follow instructions

  • Detail oriented

  • Keep a team mentality in mind at all times- prepared and willing to offer assistance and ask for assistance when needed

  • Positive outlook

  • Attend staff meetings and be able to accept constructive criticism 

 

Environmental working conditions: 

  • Noise exposure from barking dogs

  • Danger of being jumped on by large dogs, bitten or scratched (you will be working hands on with dogs of all sizes)

  • Fast paced environment 

  • Hiking in all weather year round


 

Schedule: 

  • Part time. Weekend flexibility a must 

  • This is primarily a day time shift (anytime between 8am and 6pm)

  • After training you may be working and hiking on your own 

Boarding Assistant (Night Shift)

Boarding Assistants are primarily responsible for the wellbeing of dogs being boarded in our facility. You must be able to work in a loud and fast paced environment. 

The ideal candidate for this position should have a true love and passion for dogs and their wellbeing. The dogs in our care are treated as our own family. We are not an overrun kennel, and we know each and every single dog in our care and their owners. 

 

Duties include, but are not limited to the following: 

  • Walking dogs

  • Feeding dogs

  • Cleaning crates 

  • Scooping yard

  • Washing bowls and tidying

  • Keeping facility sanitary and clean to not spread disease and/or infections

  • Laundry

  • Sanitizing toys daily 

  • Facilitating proper playgroups 

  • Notifying managers of any health concerns for any of the boarding dogs

  • Brushing, bathing and blow drying dogs

  • Administering medications

  • Working both independently and as a team

  • Bending, crouching, kneeling, standing, squatting, twisting, walking on concrete for up to 8 hours a day.

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds

  • Willing to work during inclement weather

  • Must have weekend availability and be flexible

  • This is primarily a night shift, but will start with daytime training

  • After training you will be working on your own 

  • Night shift hours are: 2pm to 11pm or 5pm to 11pm 

  • Days of work: Friday to Monday
